The figures would change depending on the amount of children, number of pets and frequency of vacuum maintenance etc. On average, if a carpet is used for one year, its appearance deteriorates to 50% of what it was when new.

Professionally cleaning the carpet after one year restores its appearance back to 80% of what it was when new. After 2 years of use and one professional clean, its appearance drops from 80% to 30% of what it looked like when new. Professionally clean the carpet again, when it’s 2 years old and its appearance increases to 50% of when new. It is very important that, if you do have a spillage – Do Not Rub – scrape as much as possible off the surface then, use the most absorbent material you have, usually kitchen roll and dab the spot untill all the liquid has been removed.

Just like a non-stick frying pan, the protection does wear off with use. It is therefor very important that the protection is re applied to carpets, rugs and upholstery – usually every 6 – 12 Months, depending on use, at the same time as professional cleaning.
