The IICRC (or The Clean Trust as they are now known) is the world’s foremost authority and examining board for professional carpet cleaners. All staff at Mr Spotless Ltd have passed the IICRC carpet cleaning certification examinations.

Make Everyday Vacuum Maintenance Easier and More Efficient

How Often Should You Professionally Clean Carpets …

Regular professional carpet cleaning ensures your carpets look their best for many years to come. This graph shows the importance of having your carpets cleaned every year. The figures would change depending on the amount of children, number of pets and frequency of vacuum maintenance etc. On average, if a carpet is used for one year, its appearance deteriorates to 50% of what it was when new.

Professionally cleaning the carpet after one year restores its appearance back to 80% of what it was when new. After 2 years of use and one professional clean, its appearance drops from 80% to 30% of what it looked like when new. Professionally clean the carpet again, when it’s 2 years old and its appearance increases to 50% of when new. Leave professional cleaning for another year and its appearance falls from 50% to 20% of when new. Cleaning the carpet again after 3 years would restore its appearance back to 40% of when new.

If the carpet was to have fabric protector applied when new and, re applied every year at the same time as professional cleaning. The appearance of the carpet after 3 years would be considerably improved. Please take a look at Fabric Protection (Scotchguard) to learn about all the benefits.

Prevent Spillages Turning Into Permanent Stains

Protection (Scotchgard™) is Teflon for carpets, rugs and upholstery. Whenever a spillage occurs on your fabric, protection prevents any of the spillage penetrating into the fibres, staying on the surface for you to easily remove.

It is very important that, if you do have a spillage – Do Not Rub – scrape as much as possible off the surface then, use the most absorbent material you have, usually kitchen roll and dab the spot untill all the liquid has been removed.

Just like a non-stick frying pan, the protection does wear off with use. It is therefor very important that the protection is re applied to carpets, rugs and upholstery – usually every 6 – 12 Months, depending on use, at the same time as professional cleaning.
